I'm 21 years old and have had my period since i was 16 years old, its always been pretty much "on time" any ways Since i was 17/18 ive always used tampons and well yesterday i came on my period, i used my normal reg tampon and then i usally use the next size up today. I cant even get a reg tampon in without it hurting, theres nothing stuck up there, but im completely unsure what the hecks going on up there :/

If you are sexually active, it could be from that. I know personally, sometimes I get so sore from sex that I can't use tampons right away. If it's not that or there is no hint of what it could be, definitely see your doctor, especially if it gets worse or doesn't seem to get better.

Wait for two to three days (unless you are emitting pus/other irregular fluid/discharge.) and if it's not getting better (as a injury would) it's an infection.

An injury (Likely sustained during sexual activity, or possibly a rough activity such as bike or horseback riding.) will feel signifigantly better in two to three days, whereas an infection will hurt more than originally. That's generally an easy way to see if you need medical attention.

However as I stated above, if you have pus or other discarge, or are in perpetual pain medical help is advised.

First, don't be embarrassed It's good to ask about something like this!

I'm the type of person who would rather go to the doctor immediately if it is something like this, BUT...you can wait. It shouldn't hurt any to wait a couple days. Are you still bleeding?

It could be sex if you had it recently. Or it could just be the beginning of your period. Sometimes you swell a bit the first couple days, then it goes away. Though, for it to be this swollen, that doesn't seem normal.

If you are still bleeding, try pads. Also, taking Advil, Nuprin, Motrin, Ibuprofen, Aleve, etc. could possibly help a bit with the swelling.

Thanks Guys, I waited one day and then managed to go back to my usaul routine, tbh this is the only time ive gotton my period and it not hurt like hell. I'd rather be swollen down there for a day or so then get horrid cramps lol.
