I'm a 16 year old girl who is 5'3" and [Edited by Kitty.] and I'm wondering if this is healthy. I don't participate in any kind of sport and I never have. I like the way I look and have never once considered trying to lose weight in any way even though I seemed to have gone from [Edited by Kitty.] to [Edited by Kitty.] within a month without knowingly altering anything.
I don't like to eat until I'm full; I wind up feeling repulsed and like I'm going to gag. So I eat 2-3 normally sized meals a day until I don't feel hungry. But more recently I haven't felt that hungry. I still eat like I have been but I've had... not a loss of appetite but a lessening of appetite I guess. I feel like if I only ate when I’m hungry I wouldn’t eat all that much. I've heard that a lack of appetite can be caused by some things but I don't have that much stress, I'm not depressed, and I'm not on any medication except for the occasional allergy medicine. So what do you guys think? Am I badly underweight? Is this lack of hunger bad or is it normal for teens? If you guys really think there is something seriously wrong then I'll go see a doctor but I can’t tell. Thanks for reading and please comment even if it’s with a “I think u r stupid, ur fine” or “omg def anorexic”. Strange feedback is still feedback, I’ll accept it J. (I'm not sure where this should go so feel free to move this. ) V lɐɯɹou oʇ dn ʎɐʍ sıɥʇ V

You can delete posts by hitting the edit/delete at the bottom of the post. This is only available for 24 hours however so if you want a thread to not be commented on, you can ask a mod by replying to the thread to close the thread for you.
Weight numbers are not allowed because they could be triggering to some users. The post is not useless. I think you should check with a doctor for a professional opinion on this. They can tell you what weight is normal for your height and they can let you know if you are underweight or fine. Also, the doctor can give you suggestions on how to deal with your changing appetite. I hope this helps and if you ever need anything, you can PM me. "When my life is like a storm

Your post isn't useless
I can still help a bit!I actually used to be like you. I would almost never get hungry. Maybe once a day so I would have one meal, but more than that I would feel very sick and gag. It could be something with your thyroid. Mine turned out alright, though. My doctor basically said I just have a very high metabolism and to only eat when I'm hungry. People are now getting to the point where they think they HAVE to eat 3 large meals a day. Not the case. Eat a large breakfast and then two small meals (one sandwich or one bowl of cereal, etc) throughout the day. At least eat two meals. One big one small. Feel free to snack a bit in-between too! If your weight is dropping more than it has in the past, then it is something to go to the doctor for. It could be nothing, but it is always good to check. If you want to avoid a doctor right now, then start a journal with your weekly weight (keeping track of the food and time you eat can be more helpful though). This way, after 3 months you can begin seeing patterns in your weight. You might notice you gain more when you're starting your period (or less). Or you might notice every 2 weeks or so you lose some weight, etc. Journal = great idea to find patterns. If it is very irregular, then a doctor is suggested. Feel free to PM me with more questions
So you have gray hair and you're only 26
that's just another reason I love you... ![]() ![]() ![]() |
