Teeth? - March 26th 2009, 11:33 PM

If you don't wanna read my complaining you can skip down to the QUESTION part.
So the other day I went to the orthodontist.
He's been dangling the whole "you'll-get-your-braces-off-before-summer-if-you-wear-your-rubber-bands" thing in front of me for months now.
So I wore my rubber bands like a good little girl and went back in hopes of getting them off early, cuz they look perfect now.
So my orthodontist says good job, they are perfect.
I can't get my braces off because my twelve year molars haven't grown in yet.
I'm fifteen.
How is that possible?!
So he says it could be late into summer before they grow in and I get my braces off now.
Which would make it three years and six months I've had the stupid things.
Anyways, QUESTION: Is there any humanly possible way to make those teeth grow in faster that you know of?
I looked it up and it says there's nothing but I'm still a little hopeful.

lol, i'm sorry to say that i do not believe there is a way to make your teeth grow faster. However, braces look really good on a lot of my friends, so you shouldn't be in such a hurry! (;

Baby, there's no gettin' over you.

Unfortunately, teeth are pretty stubborn

Braces are probably your only key to teeth success. But I wouldn't worry about it so much, they're not so bad. You'll have them off in no time. I'd say go with them, your orthodontist most likely knows what he's talking about.

Unfortunately, no. You can't make your teeth grow faster. Just do everything your orthodontist says and you'll be fine. Braces aren't too bad, anyway!

Yeah, as Brittney said, braces aren't all that bad! - most people in my year at school have had braces at some point or still have them, it's not unusual, and it's totally worth it in the end! :]

By the way, it's not uncommon to have molars be delayed in their entry. I was 18 before my 15 year old molars were in all the way!

Hi Emma!

Teeth can be so finicky, can't they? I have really slow teeth as well. Sadly, there is no way to make them grow faster, especially for molars. I'm still waiting on teeth to grow.
The best thing is to look forward and be positive. =] They are almost off and it will feel so wonderful when you see your brand new, bright smile. I hated waiting to get my braces off too. Just remember that the longer they stay, the better off your teeth will be. You are almost there!

I was also fifteen and lacking in the twelve year molar department. However, right when my teeth were straight and he was ready to take them off he saw that the molars were starting to come in. They appeared to be coming in straight, so he decided to take the braces off. My retainers have a wire in the back that is supposed to guide them in. They are not completely in yet, but they are coming in straight. There's nothing you can do but wait, honestly. I was told if my twelve year molars were to grow in crooked that I would have to get braces all over again because my teeth would shift.

I got that same damn routine. I was suppose to have my braces off in like September. Even when I finished with the rubber bands they kept them on. Finally I'm getting off on April 16th.

Get your parents to talk with them. Only after my parents said something I'm getting them off. Orthodontists must think were stupid and have a horrible sense of time. They should respect your parents more, and give some honest answers.
