oh my god need hellppp FAST !! - February 9th 2012, 08:02 PM

okay so last night i got a MASSIVE leg cramp!! like ... i couldn't walk AT ALL ! it was pretty awful. anyways i kinda walked it out but it STILL hurts a lot i can walk but i have gymnastics in an hour or so and need it to be GONE by then if i'm going to be able to nail a whip . . . and i really need this whip in my routine for the upcoming meet so we can kick ... butt .

SO PLEAASSSSEEEE help me !

my meet is next week


I wanna fly. So I do gymnastics instead.

There's no magical way to make muscle pains go away. It could be you overexerted your muscles in that leg. The best thing you can do so you don't pull a muscle is to let it rest and use cold compresses for the first 48 hours then start with warm compresses and as hot as you can stand baths. Do stretches, but not too much.

Since you have gymnastics, ask your coach for suggestions.

It sounds to me like you got a charlie horse (was it in your calf area?). I typically get these while I'm sleeping and can honestly say it's on the higher end of my pain scale. For charlie horses specifically, I've found trying to slowly stand on it WHILE it happens helps after. But for me, after just takes time to heal and for the soreness to go away. If it still hurts, take it easy in gymnastics. I know you want to do it still and stuff, but I'm sure you'd rather take a small break and take it easy than do it and end up screwing things up more.

If you do go, I'd say make sure you stretch it as well as you possibly can before you do any tricks or anything.
