Daily vomitting? - March 30th 2009, 05:27 AM

Okay, so, here is the deal...

I have a very sensitive stomach. It is not uncommon for me to throw up two to four times a month, and I experience nausea even more often. I get motion sickness quite easily, I can throw up from lack of sleep, not eating enough, headaches, or for no reason at all. It is something my parents and doctors are aware of; I have a prescription for Zofran, but other than that it is just accepted that my stomach sucks.

However, for the past seven days, I have thrown up ever single day; some days, twice, and yesterday I did it four times. I've been going to the bathroom thinking I'm going to throw up even more than that. It has gotten to the point where I have difficulty keeping food down, and with as much exercise as I get doing Theatre, this has caused a lot of light-headedness and exhaustion.

Other than those listed above, I have no other symptoms, and I do not have that "sick" feeling. In fact, I usually become very, very nauseas before I get to the point of vomitting; but this week, I have hardly felt naseaus at all.

At first, my mom and I thought that it had to do with lack of sleep this past week...but these last couple of nights, I've slept fine, and still gotten sick.

My main question is; should I go to the doctor now, or would it be worth it to wait a couple more days to see if getting more sleep will help? Also, if you happen to have any suggestions of a cause, I would appreciate your opinion. I am fully aware that none of you can or will diagnose me, but I'd love to have ideas to suggest to my doctor when/if I go.

Thanks, guys. <3

in a long time,
I can say that I wanna try.
I feel helpless for the most part,
but I'm learning to open my eyes.
And the sad truth of the matter is,
I'll never get over it,
but I'm gonna try
to get better and overcome each moment
in my own way"

Hm, first of all, Im sorry to hear you gotta go through all of this, that does not sound like a fun time
Personally, I'd go to a doctor sooner rather than later, especially because you need your strength for Theatre. And I hate to think of the damage it's doing to your esophagus!

And so I say to you that nothing really matters
And all you do is stand and cry.

There could be multiple causes, anything from a disorder involving the nerves to a disease. I suppose it could be having slightly less than normal mucus-secreting cells to protect the stomach wall from gastric acids, so it can trigger you to vomit. Not sure if that's possible or not, however, it could happen. You could have some sort of disorder (many possible choices).
