Question Medicines/Drugs? - July 26th 2012, 04:33 AM

Heey Guys!

I'm not addicted to drugs, don't panic! But I was just wondering if you can get addicted to taking painkillers like paracetmol or nurofen or something like that? Since they are pretty common painkillers I just thought would it be easy to find yourslef becoming addicted to them?

Thanks guys!

~Much Love,
Ellie. X

No, they're not physically addictive at all. I suppose theoretically, you could become mentally addicted, but they don't really give any sensation/feeling that typical addictive drugs do (feeling high or stoned), so it's very unlikely that anyone would become addicted to them.

Narcotics such as morphine and codeine are the drugs that are the most habit-forming. Most stimulants also have a habit-forming aspect as well.

Analgesics such as paracetamol and ibuprofen on the other hand have no such effects.
