Quitting nicotine gum. - November 13th 2013, 10:30 AM

I quit smoking two years ago. Problem is, I'm still taking nicotine gum >.> I feel ridiculous, I'm addicted to chewing gum for God's sake.

I haven't had one for two days and have just been chewing normal gum. Right now I feel like crap >.> I know nicotine gum is a million times better for you than cigarettes but I'd prefer not to be addicted to anything.

What could I do when I'm having a craving? I have been chewing normal gum like I've said but that doesn't seem to be enough.

Edit: Well, two days were for nothing. I thought I didn't have any left but found 3 in a strip in my draw. I just had one >.> I'm a dick.

Have you tried switching to a really strong mint or a different kind of gum? When I was attempting to quit smoking those helped. I also found that finding new hobbies to keep me busy and exhaust me worked well too. I took up running and zumba and was always looking for a new cardiac exercise. It's healthy as long as you adjust your diet to account for the added nutrition need of the new exercise. Hopefully that helps you.

Keep your hand busy, or sing, since you are now addicted with your mouth doing something (instead of a combo of your hands & mouth). You have to keep your mouth busy, try singing, or just anything to keep your mind busy.
