Para Charge - December 13th 2009, 09:25 PM

Last friday i was with friends and they got us smoking pot in stairwell at school, luckily we had smoked all the weed and as such i was only charged with possesion of paraphenelia. Now I was wondering what will be my likely punishment for this. I am 16 years old and live in minnesota. I am thinking I will most likely get some sort of 6 month probation and 12-20 hours community service.

Another question is this just happened 2 days ago. I havent really seen any of the info on my charges ect they just sent me home after talking to us and saying i was charged with para. On tuesday i have my second job interview at mcdonalds. Last time i was interviewed with their shift manager and a question came up that was "you havent been in any trouble with the law right?" and i of course said no because at that point i hadnt been in any trouble. Now on tuesday i was wondering if they ask if i have gotten in trouble with the law should I tell them about it?

First off, best to tell them because aside from honesty being moral, if they find out you've lied about this sort of thing it's an excuse for dismissal.
Being British I don't know all that much about US drugs penalties for low level offences such as yours.

being australian, again i can't describe in specifics but as you're a minor, and it's your first offense, and it's only a para charge i can't see you getting into any major troubles.

it's the beauty of confession

If they've already asked you if you've been in trouble with the law then there's a chance you might not be asked that question again. If you are though it's best to just tell them.
I did a quick google search and it looks like the charges are different in different states so it depends on which state you're in. Apparantly there's no Federal Law on simple drug paraphenelia but there's State Laws so I'm thinking that if there's no Federal Law then you're probably not going to be majorly punished so you probably will just get community service like you said.
