Question Benadryl OD...help? - January 17th 2010, 01:10 AM

This thread has been labeled as triggering, particularly on the subject of substance use, by the original poster or by a Moderator. The contents of this thread might therefore not be suitable for certain sensitive users. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

I accidentally discovered about six months ago that when you OD on Benadryl you get some crazy hallucinations. I have done it a couple of times because it almost feels like being high. When I'm really depressed it kinda wakes me up if you get what I mean. [Edited by Asylum] I know this can't be healthy for me but is it also addicting? I've noticed that if I go a couple of weeks without doing it, it's all I can think about. I haven't told my therapist about it because I'm not sure if it's one of the things she has to report.

Hey Amy, I really think you do need to get to find a way out of this. Some people, I believe, can be allergic to it. I nearly overdosed on benadryl (A LOT more than what's suggested to get high). I guess everyone's body responds differently, but should still be careful - trust me, oding on that is the least thing you want to do. When it starts to take a disasterous effect on you it can seriously mess up your heart rate and you'll feel like a vein is growing down your throat - it's not pleasant, at all. So from one person who almost went too far, you're better of stopping.
