Is there anyway to get off drugs without medical help? - April 17th 2011, 07:57 AM

I have been on drugs since I was young because of my dads abuse, I want to get off drugs but I don't want any medical help. I'm deathly scared of doctors because of my past. I really want to get better though. Any advice. I really don't want to go to the doctors

If you are abusing perscription medicans such as Perc's or pain killers(vicodin, tramadol) or anxiety pills(xanax) then you will just go through some cold sweats and irritability, but you still should go to the doctor just incase the amount you are taking in is too high for your body to handle without medications. Cocaine and Heroin on the other hand, just got to the doctor. They will understand. Users come in all day. They are only there to try and help you live a healthier life and get into some kind a rehab program. My other advice other than that would be for you to go to a health store and find a body cleansing drink or pill that will help take the toxins out of your body. I hope that helped you a bit. Good luck. I hope you succed!

If it's something minor I'm sure you could force yourself off with some lesser withdrawal symptoms, but if it's heroin or something more serious you'll definitely need medical help or the withdrawal could be lethal.
