friend moved away and forgot about me - April 23rd 2012, 11:48 PM

My friend left for a private school at the end of last year and never told me she was leaving. We finally got back in touch after the summer. She always said she couldn't wait to get together and have some fun together. It's been a very hard year for me both at home and at school, and her leaving just makes it that much worse. So today i sent her a birthday message on facebook. She talked about how great her birthday party was, how many she invited...I wasn't invited obviously. I was so hurt. She got me through things before and told me to keep my head up. She called me tonight and left a message on my cell about how she found new friends and how she didn't think our friendship would be able to go on. I still haven't stopped crying. there's tears all over my keyboard. this has been the hardest year of my life, with friends and family turning on me left and right. I haven't done anything but try to be the best Person I can be. if only she knew how hellish this year has truly been.

Hey
I'm so sorry she's acting like this. Losing a friend always hurts.
When moving away, it is normal to make new friends, and gradually lose touch with the old ones.

Theres little i can suggest tbh.
Have you got other friends? Maybe try spending more time with them?

It's very possible she left for painful reasons too. She might have just needed to sever ties with people like you for her well being. I know that might be selfish sounding, but it's not that much different than expecting her to be there as your friend just cause you've been having a hard time, we all react in our own ways.
Plus, it's natural to move and lose touch with current friends, like when I moved I lost touch with a lot of my friends and will talk to some of them only every 6 months or so. It sucks cause a lot of them still think I'll just come "home" all the time and it's like they don't realize that its NOT just that easy.
But yeah... Worst comes to worst, you COULD just talk to her, be like "hey, it sucks we have drifted apart, all this stuff has happened and there are so many times I wish we were still close as we used to be so i could talk to you about it" or what ever... try to make i more about her though
