Feel so bothersome... - July 14th 2012, 03:22 AM

Whenever I feel depressed or the urges to cut, I always want to text one of my friends because I don't want to be alone...but I eel like I make a big deal out of nothing. I have no reason it seems like to be so unhappy all of the time. Its so frustrating because they want to help me, but I won't let them because I never tell them what's wrong. And when I do, o regret it because the reason isn't even a good reason. Its a horrible feeling and I don't know how to get rid of the guilt and stop playing mind games with myself.

Mind games aren't fun to play; and I've been in similar situations (but not regarding SH). When I get upset, or the urges to yell, scream, etc, I always do a few different things:

1) I get in contact with someone else (friend, neighbor, co-worker, family member). I don't necessarily tell them whats wrong, but instead just simply have a conversation with them. This keeps you feeling like you have someone to talk too, and your not alone.

2) I turn to funny things. I usually look at funny videos on youtube, or I may even look for quotes to best fit what I'm feeling (whatever the situation may be).

3) I try to relax. I may shut off my phone for alittle bit, take a nap, watch a [family] show on tv (try to stay away from action/drama movies as they may stress you out even more).

If I do these three things, I usually feel pretty good. Sometimes I only need to do two of them, sometimes even one, but the point I'm trying to make is it is ok to seek a conversation with someone! The only real word of advice is try to open up too them, or try to find other options/outlets ( like Videos, Quotes, Movies, Etc) to help you out and make you feel better.

I've been really sad whenever I'm alone the past few weeks and I know how you feel (I don't cut so I don't know how that feels, though).

I only have one friend I can talk to, so I definitely know what you mean when you say you feel bothersome.

A lot of the time I don't know why I'm sad, I think it's just lonlieness, so it's not like I talk about what's wrong most of the time.

I think you SHOULD keep talking to your friend(s) because it could help to talk to someone, even if you feel your reason for depression is not good enough. They care about you and they would want you to be happy
