Hello, Saoirse. Welcome to TeenHelp!

First things first, don't panic until you actually meet with your friend. Maybe she wants to talk about something else that's important! That being said, it might not be a bad idea to spend a little bit of time thinking about what you would say or do to your friend, if she announced she was moving to Canada. One thing you DON'T want to do is start yelling/blaming her, talking about how it'll be the end of the world, or giving her the cold shoulder because you're hurt. She's going to need you more than ever now, if she's really moving to Canada.

Technology now allows us to keep in touch with people in other countries, so while your friendship won't be the same, it can remain strong after the move! You can use Skype, Facebook, phone calls, text messaging, etc. You can write letters, send care packages, and e-mail photos to your friend. There are plenty of ways to stay connected, even when living across the Atlantic Ocean.
