I need some advice. - September 13th 2012, 03:46 AM

Hi, i am new to this site and normally don't bombard people with my problems but, i need to ask some advice on how i can get my parents to spend time with me a little more. I have been feeling very lonely and need them to pay attention to me a little more. It seems that i am only in this house so i can look after my younger sisters while my parents work late at night on weekdays. I help them with their homework and cook meals for them and make sure they are safe and happy. My parents goes out to parties with their friends and are almost never home. Whenever they are home, they yell at me for not doing a good of enough job cleaning the house and that i should do better. It feels like the only way they will talk to me is to tell me that i have done something wrong. I need to feel accepted as a human in this house and need to talk to them about this but i fear they will scream more at me for not behaving a certain way. If anyone has any ideas of how i can talk to them please let me know. Thank you.

Well, I'd suggest communication. Tell your parents how you feel and ask if your whole family can go somewhere for an entire day suggest a fun day, or to ask if they can take a day off work to just hang out with you guys.

If you ever want to talk, just message me
Good luck,
