No friends. - November 6th 2012, 02:37 AM

I don't have any friends. I have a boyfriend, but he has friends. When I'm not with him, I'm lonely. I go to an online school, I don't know how to make friends in my position. I just don't want to be lonely anymore. What should I do?

I would start getting involved more around the community/town. Sure, you can make online friends, but its also very important to make physical friends. So start getting involved. Volunteer for a local project, or at the local township. Join a sport and/or a club within the local community. Go get a part time/seasonal job where you are able to build up co-worker relationships which sometimes turn into friendships. All these things will keep you busy (which reduces loneliness), and also opens up doors to new people which means new possible friendships. So the main thing you need to do is put yourself out there more: Get involved!

Best wishes,
Chris

I hope you know that you deserve it all. The best, the most honest, the most beautiful purest love in the world. Not only to be loved by others, but to be loved by yourself. To look in the mirror and think "Yes, I'm exactly who I want to be". To speak up and be proud of yourself. To be brave and open. You deserve the nicest and most caring people to walk into your life. You deserve it all, you know. The whole world...

I wouldn't mind being your friend=) But Chris is right, you need more than just online friends. Its really important to have people in your life that you can hang out with and talk to besides your family and your bf. I understand where you are coming from though because my best friend is the same way. She goes to online school and im the only friend she has. The only way you can fix it is if you do some kind of extracurricular activity. Something else you could do too is maybe get a job. I know jobs are not the most fun thing there is, but you are kind of forced to meet people when you are working.

Thanks, guys. I actually just applied for a seasonal job. I also signed up at my school to help the community. Hopefully I can make some friends. (:

I'd love to be your friend! I know what you mean..the only person I have is my fiance. No friends here either. Good for you for volunteering!
