I got caught staring. - October 20th 2013, 02:49 PM

So, lemme explain something. This one guy and I...we're like two peas in a pod, alright? Born on the same day (I'm a few hours older though!), we once got the exact same score on a test, we once wore matching outfits to school on accident, I can't tell you how many times I've jinxed him because we said the most random crap at the same time. We tease, we torment, and we love it. He's like the twin I never wanted, but got stuck with anyway. People even ask all the time if we're siblings. Yeah... So my point is, we're pretty good, and yes, strange friends.
So, last week, my best girl friend saw me take off my sweatjacket in pe. She said the whole time, that guy was staring. I didn't care. Nobody can blame a person for looking. I just don't know what there is to stare at on me, but whatev. xD
So a few days later, we were all waiting in the hall for the teacher to let us into class. Well the guy took off his sweater. In the middle of that, his shirt got caught up on his chest, revealing his abs. Now, I've seen him without his shirt on before...but he actually got some definition and, at least, a four pack on those abs. So, I don't know, I kinda blanked out and just stared. It seemed like the whole thing was in slow motion and there was a sunbeam shining on him. (Yeah I know I sound crazy, bear with me here.)
My friends started waving their hands in front of my face and I still didn't move. Finally I snapped out of it.
Ever since then, my friends (and the mutual friends who saw it too) have been making fun of me and teasing me non-stop. I've kinda played along with it, just to give them a laugh. It's funny to me too, so I don't care.

But now I'm just wondering...I mean...what if they're right? I can't see myself liking him purely for his body. But what if I do...? Just because I stared, though, doesn't mean I like him. I've already thought of what I'd say if he asked me out, and the answer would be no. He's a popular player and I love our friendship a lot more than I'd love a two day relationship.
Everybody loves a nice pack of abs...right?

If you don't feel anything more than friendship for him, you could have just been admiring his body and found him attractive at that moment. If your friends are making a big deal out of it, it could make you question how you feel but if you're pretty sure you don't like him then I would say you don't, as I feel you can be attracted to someone/like their body and not want to be with them.

Well, while I have not seen you, that's an easy one. Maybe he thinks you have good looks? Maybe he thinks you are (a bit?) attractive? I could go on with a lot more reasons, but you should get the gist. Take it as a compliment.

A lot of people say you should not date friends, it makes things awkward if you break up, and you could end up loosing a good friendship. While this is not always true, I would say that you have the right idea there.

Yes, and, at least here, the girls mags are full of pics of men with 6 packs. You are not the first to look at someone with nice abs, and you wont be the last.

I like to help, and give advice, but I can be brutally honest. Feel free to PM me if you want, for any reason. I have yet to find a topic that I will not talk about, regardless of how much, or little I know about the topic.
