Mother trouble, feeling alone! - May 16th 2014, 09:38 PM

Hi guys!
Im turning 18 soon my mother and her husband constantly have rows and break up twice a year he puts hands on her and shes extremely hard to put up with its a horrible relationship. This time they have split up for longer than usual my mother is driving me crazy, taking sleeping pills , zanex and alcohol while confiding in the wrong people and not spending any real time with me or my four year old sister. My dad lives in England we dont speak often he sends money sometimes. I am finished my first year of college already and feel like I have had to grow up very quick. I have no real friends I would love a best friend I could share things with. I feel very alone and down in myself I practically live with my boyfriend who works fulltime and when he is in work I stay in the bedroom all day. Has anyone got any advise please!

Hi there! Sorry for such a late reply.

I'm sorry that you have to deal with all of that. It must be really tough. I know situations like that can get lonely sometimes. You could always visit our chat room to talk and meet some new people. Live Help (you should be able to see whether it is online or offline towards the top of this page) is a great system where you can get advice from one of our staff members instantly.

I think it's also a good idea to reach out for some help and to find someone that you can talk to. This person could be a school counselor, a friend's parent, or anyone else that you can think of. You might also want to try journaling or making some art which I find always helps me. Joining some clubs or confiding in existing friends could also help when things get stressful. Also, you might want to check out our hotlines page if you ever need someone to talk to. I hope this helped and you're always welcome to message me!

Find your light in a new dawn.
