Screw my "friends" and family - August 17th 2015, 12:41 PM

Well, I'm sick and tired of the way people treat me. It's like I don't even exist and end of getting ignored. But until I have something, say money, then they start to show "interest" in me. I hate people like that. Oh course once they get what they want, it's back to being ignored and treated like crap.

Hey, Ryan.

I'm sorry about how your friends and family are treating you right now. That sounds really difficult.

Have you expressed this to your family and friends? I'm not sure if you have or not, but it's okay to stand up to them and let them know that you'd appreciate being treated better. And also that you feel as they only talk to you when they need something. You could get it through to them in a kind way for a hopefully more effective outcome, such as saying something along these lines: "I don't mind helping you out, but I wish you'd make time for me during days that you don't particularly need help with something."

As for your friends, if they don't make any effort to acknowledge you and treat you kindly then you don't have to put lots of effort into these friendships if they aren't willing to do the same in return. You know, I can see how your situation would make you feel angry and make you feel low, I can understand that. Which is why I want to remind you that how your family and friends treat you does not define you as a person nor does it define your worth.

Best of luck, Ryan. Take care.
