Help - September 15th 2015, 05:48 PM

I just don't get on with people.. It took me years to make close friends at school and now I've left school and am starting at college. There are all new people in my class and I don't really like any of them! I talk to a few and have sort of become friends but I really don't like them cos there so different from me and have no sense of humour. The others girls in my class I dislike even more. They don't seem to know how to laugh or joke and when I do they look at me like I'm mad. At my old drama classes I struggled to make friends and often quit them coz no one really liked me. I really hate college. Because of the people the course Which is actually ok is now so boring and awkward and horrible. I really want to leave and try again at another college... But will they all be the same?! I don't know what I'd do if they were

I can do it and I can get through it. So can you xx

College is apparently a great place to make good friends but most importantly, it should be about what education you're getting. If you try another college, will it still be just as good as your current college and contribute to your future goals educationally speaking? If so, then my thoughts are that you should try a different college because as long as it's good educationally then it would be a much better and happier experience if you were around people whom you could form strong friendships with.

The people in your current college sound like a tough crowd. Having friends you can laugh with rather than being in a constant serious atmosphere is fantastic but it's also good to be around a responsible crowd is cares about their studies as well! I'm sorry you're having such a hard time making friends but I hope that if you do decide to try another college, that you make lots of good friends there. Not everyone is the same so I highly doubt everyone would be the same at a different college. I'd say it's worth a try!

Best of luck. Let us know how things go for you?
