Talking to a friend I haven't talked to in years? - December 31st 2015, 10:22 AM

I met this girl online back in 2009, and we became really good friends. We talked on Skype almost every day. I found out she lives only about 30 miles from me, so I felt like she was special since we could even meet up in real life. So we keep talking to each other for the next two years, and at one point she told me how much she really liked me. I didn't know how to tell her I felt the same but it made me like her even more, and it is one of the reasons that have made me want to get back in touch with her. We kept talking until the end of 2011 when we got into a fight over something stupid. One day I started messaging her and she didn't respond. Five minutes later she blows up at me for no reason, I guess she was just mad at something else. Then I got mad at her for doing that, and next thing I know she deleted me from everything and told me goodbye. So I got on with my life, but then in mid 2013 I got a friend request on Facebook from her. I just accepted it, but I didn't message her. We still haven't talked since she deleted me from everything, but I am starting to really miss her now. I don't know what to say or if I should even try. I feel awkward for waiting this long, like I could have done it way back when she added me again. I kind of expected her to say something, but she never did. I don't know how I should message her or what to say. I just want to tell her that I want to start talking to her again.

I think you should be completely honest and hopefully she'll appreciate your honesty. Maybe you can tell her that you've missed talking to her and you'd like to talk to her again like you used to. It can be hard to talk to someone in person about this and I think being able to communicate about this through messaging gives you a good advantage.
