So, around halloween, I met some people playing video games. I gave a couple my phone numbers. So we texted and skyped. So it was good we talked while we played video games. My friend from school started playing with us and accidentally revealed the town and state I live in and now they keep trying to find me. I have always been insecure and I'm scared if they find me on my private social media, then get mad at me at some point might share it :c Im really scared and I don't want to be made fun of! I deleted most of my social media, but my family still has pictures of me on theirs! Please help!

Hey,

I'm sorry these people are stalking you, that's really scary. It was smart to delete your social media, but if there's any left you want to keep, you could change your profile picture, location, or last name (or, better yet, a combination of those). That way you can still use it to connect with friends who already have you added, but others won't be able to find you. If they don't have your last name, you should be okay, especially if the town you live in is big or you have a pretty common first name.

I think it would be a good idea to tell your parents that you think some people might be trying to find you online. This might not seem like a good idea – I know my parents would flip out if something like that happened – but if you're really worried, it's definitely the safest option. They can take pictures of you off their social media accounts or at least untag you in them. I would also cut off these people. Even if you like talking to them online, nothing good is going to come out of spending time with them. They could end up finding out more information about you. It's just unacceptable for them to be stalking you like that when they know it's making you uncomfortable.

I hope this helped! You can always shoot me a message if you need anything or want to chat
