Unhappy He cheated on my sister - June 15th 2009, 08:20 AM

A few weeks ago i found out my sisters boyfriend of 22 years has been cheating on her with another women.
My sister has absolutely broken down.
I've been brought up along side my niece and am shocked/mortified that this has happened.
Me and My family are giving her as much support as possible.

Privately I've found myself suddenly very depressed and just wanting to cry half the time. Is this normal?

First I am really sorry this happened to your sister. And yes, it's very normal to be upset this much. A man your sister, you, your family trusted has betrayed you by cheating. You first have to discover the circumstances - for example, how long it's been going on for. Then your sister must make the decision of whether she wants to continue a relationship with this man.

I'm sorry to hear that and as said, it is normal to feel that way because you trusted this man and possibly made him part of the family if they were together for so long and he broke that trust by cheating on your sister. I'm sure everyone else feels the same way as you, which means you can all be there for each other especially for your sister as well.
