Just because you're an adult child doesn't mean that you should have to "get over it".

My parents announced that they were getting a divorce when I was 12. They had wanted to get a divorce years and years before that, but they stayed together for my sake. I, too, was in shock. I knew that they always fought, but I never thought they would actually split up as a result.

It could be that your mother was just blowing off steam, or it could be that she's really ready to go through with it. She could have been waiting until you were an adult, so that the divorce wouldn't affect your lifestyle quite as dramatically as it would have if you were still a minor in school. Or, despite all they've been through, perhaps this latest conflict was simply the last straw.

In any case, I'm truly sorry, and I feel for you. =( I hope for the best regarding your parents, and for you.

I'm really sorry to hear that =[
My parents divorced when I was around 4 or 5. Its not an easy thing to go through.
As the post above says maybe your mum is letting of steam.
But no you shouldn't have to get over it. Divorce is hard for everyone it affects whatever the age.
