Facebook Etiquette - July 22nd 2009, 02:51 PM

An old friend from elementary school recently friended me. I haven't added her yet, but I would like to...We haven't seen eachother in years, and I wasn't the nicest person back in the day...should I just friend her and not say anything, or is it more polite to add her and say hi, even if I find it a bit awkward?

I recently added about 7 friends from my old school. I haven't seen these people since I was 11. I have at least said Hi to each of them, with some that was where the conversation ended but with others we had some really big fun conversations.

3 of the people who I added weren't exactly my friends in school 1 actually bullied me and through facebook we have had some great conversations and we have actually laughed about how pathetic some of the fights we had were.

I think you should add her and say hi. If she doesn't say anything it might be she just wanted to look around your pictures and your profile, I have had people do that and I hate it, so if people don't talk to me and they aren't my very close friends then I normally delete them or put them on a limited profile.

It was elementary school - you've changed a lot since then.
Though I do remember when my SUPER crush from elementary school friended me. That was a little disasterous. xD

I'd add her and say hello, everyone changes alot over the years and saying hello would put that behind you both?

If you'd like to add her, then I think that you should. It may be a little awkward at first, but that can change. If nothing comes from it, being friendly never hurts anyways. I'm sure you've both changed a lot since elementary school, so maybe it will turn out better than expected.

Also, I've moved your thread from Relationships and Dating to Friends and Family. I think it's better suited here with the other friend discussion!

Take care.
