We're not much of a family, anyway. - July 31st 2009, 01:21 AM

Suggestion thread!

Ways to get out of a week down the shore with my family. No, they won't be losing any money or anything if I don't go.

We all dislike eachother, but due to the circumstances are forced to kind of sort of get along. I see my parents for a maximum of maybe an hour each day, between our schedules - that usually consists of me bitching for some stupid reason. I'm kind of scared to see what a full week will be like .

Would it be too conveniant to get a nasty stomach virus the day before we leave?

Actually going is not really an option for a number of reasons, to which I should probably elaborate on - but alas, I do not feel like it.

Ideas?

Hmm... Well the main thing is gonna be convincing them that you can stay home alone or find a friend to stay with. Unless they'll let you at 17. If not, don't yell and scream, it's stupid but understandable. Against the law technically for a minor to be alone.
But hmm... as for excuses to not go? Could you say that a friend nearby needs you to stay there or.. I don't know I would get really sick a few days before the trip so it seems like you're sick before. Is there something before that you can miss out on because your sick? That usually works for me. Or make something up. Ask if you can go to a party a day or two before the trip, get sick a day or so before the party and stay sick or something. I'm not very creative when I'm tired '

Take me seriously.
I dare you.

Aw, it's okay, thanks for the advice anyway!
My parents would never(knowingly) let me stay in this house alone for days at a time. I'm pretty sure they think that we live in the hood, or something.
My grandmother is watching our dogs/house while we're gone - and I have a couple of friends who are kind enough to let me crash at their house at a moment's notice.

It's about a three hour car ride - which is long enough for them to not want me in the car, in the event that I would come down with a stomach virus =D.
