Is it tacky to get a friend a present from an amusment park gift shop for her birthday? - August 10th 2009, 03:56 PM

I missed my friends birthday party when I was going out of town to my uncles and got her a present from an amusement park gift shop to give to her when school starts in a few days. But I'm realizing that this might seem... I don't know, tacky?
I got her a braclet and it says the amusement park name on the tag. I was thinking on cutting it off but then she might think I'm just giving her a bracelt I got and don't wear.
But I also don't want her to think that I just got her something last minute while I was out of town at a cheap little gift shop...

I don't know. I tend to overthink just about everything '

I'm sure that your friend will love her no matter what you give her. It is a little tacky but those can be the best gifts sometimes.

I reckon if the bracelet is cute then she'll love it either way
I don't think its important where you got the gift, its more important that you got her something that you think she'll like

Thanks. I'll probably leave the tag on I guess. I just made a box to put it in out of paper and black and orange duck tape. It's like 2 presents in one I guess
That way it's a bit more personal than a present from a gift shop.

The fact that you got a birthday present at all is what matters! And the personal touch with the gift box is cute. I'm sure your friend will like her new bracelet, and maybe she'll even think it's more cool because of where it came from.

It could also show that you were being kind and thinking about your friend while you were away at the amusement park.
