Question Talking to parents?! Help. Please. - August 17th 2009, 04:47 AM

Problem #1: I have a hard time talking to my parents, and recently we've been having alot of problems. Like my older sister who is 19, has her boyfriend living in our house (To help him get on his feet, he just moved to the city where we live.), and it is really hard to talk to her. But recently I did something really stupid, because I couldn't talk to them. I wanted to see this boy, he is my best friend, and they don't know that...because they don't ask, or care. I stayed in my front yard, but went out to see him none the less. I know it was wrong. He just meant so much to me...he still does. Anyways they caught me one time, and I tried to explain everything to them, but I still got grounded for two months of the summer, I wasn't allowed to talk to anyone exept for my parents, my sister, and Kenneth (My sister's boyfriend). Ever since then I've been trying to be as good as I can, I mean that was the first time I've ever done anything "Bad", first time I'd ever been grounded, and I'm not longer allowed to speak to the person in the world who means the most to me. So I've tried to get over that, and I've done pretty well...On top of all that I've had to be studying for the SATs and I have alot of pressure on me because of that.

Problem #2: I've always had really bad period cramps, I mean they are terrible! I can't do anything for the whole four days that it lasts. I don't bleed heavy or anything like that I just cramp to the point that the pain gets so bad it makes me throw up. I'm really good with pain to, so its not like I'm being whiney, I broke my back and didn't scream or cry...so deffinatly good with pain. But my cramps make me start bawling my eyes out. My period has always been regular no issue there, just the cramps. So I want to go get myself checked out by a Gyno, but I'm not sure about how to ask my mom to take me. I've been dealing with this pain for the past three and a half years, I didn't start my period until I was 14, and as time has went on it keeps getting worse. If you guys have any advise on talking to my mom about going to get my self checked out, that would be great, or if anyone has any idea how I can get this to stop. The only time I don't cramp is if I'm at practice. (Gymnastics.)

Well for your first problem, if you're having a hard time talking to your parents.. then maybe what you can do is try and catch your mom at a time when shes alone, and ask her if you can have a heart-to-heart talk with her. Do the same with your dad. Just tell them how you're feeling, how you feel that you cant talk to them easily.

For your second problem.. after you talk to your mom (and that talk should go smoothly, just try not to lose your temper and try to keep her temper down too :]) anyways, after you talk to your mom, mention that your period cramps have been absolutly killing you, and that you'd really really like to go see a doctor about it.
Just out of curiousity, but have you tried taking Midol? Even though your pains seem to be very bad, im sure a little bit of relief would do you some good :]

I hope this helped! PM me if you need anything else ;]
