Guys - September 19th 2009, 09:37 PM

Hey again...Sorry for being such a bother but. I am kinda' in shock about something. Even though is rather small, it still came as big news to me. I just depends on whether its true or not and I can't get it out of my head its. It's 10:25pm and I can't stop thinking about it.....

Ok so basicly my best friend and I were walking out of school and my old crush always stands in the same place every year, everday after school, since we've started high school; waiting for his friends to go home.

As we we're walking out, my friend asks me "Do you still like him?" (I haven't spoke to him this once this year. Not even over the summer holidays no contact at all last time we spoke was in the 9th year/grade,I'm in 10th year/grade)

I replied back to my friend, "I Don't know it's a mixed bag of nuts" ha-ha. Which she then says.
"I fancy him like hell."...

I was stuck at this point...I had to go to my aunty after school, she was leaving for eastbourne to see her nan first thing in the morning, I never got to find out if she was telling the truth. Its just I really don't know what to say. I guess its just jealousy but it's a really strong emotion. I couldn't stop thinking about it.

See I liked him for since about mid 7th-9th Year/grade. The entire year new that. Its sorta awkward. But I guess friends come first right? So she should have a try, neither of us have had a boy friend. So she should try.

I hope to speak to her on Sunday see what she has to say whether it's true or not. I'd rather do it out side of school. I don't want to embarass any of us.

What do you think?
Nina

Hi Nina,

Talking to your friend outside of school is a good idea. There's a good chance she does really fancy this guy, and she trusts you a lot to confide that in you. I understand that your jealous, and I think it's completely normal to be jealous right now. If you both like the same guy, you're bound to feel a bit competitive.

What you shouldn't do is let this guy get in between you and your friend. It sounds like you and your friend get along and really trust each other, and a crush on a guy shouldn't change that. I think it's fair to communicate how you feel about this guy with your friend as well. From what it sounds like, your friend didn't seem to ask if you liked the guy because she wants to make you jealous. She's probably just curious.

It may take a while to get over the jealousy, but that's just natural. Talk it over with your friend and try to put it behind you. It could be that your friend likes this guy, but isn't thinking of pursuing a relationship.

Take care.
Nat.
