Arrow I NEED to move my PC to my room. - January 24th 2009, 12:04 AM

Okay I didn't know where else to post this.
I know it'll seem kinda silly but humor me.
And I'm gonna try to make it short.

I want to & NEED to move my PC to my room
It's like my 4th computer & they've always been in the living room.

I'm the only one who uses this computer.
The only one who gets on.
The only only who has EVER used them.

I'm f*cking 18 for crying out loud.

The last time I told them to let me move the computer to my room was when I was like 15?

But that's besides the point.

I need to move the computer to my room because
The graphic designing I do involved half naked women.
Flyers for clubs/parties & such.
And it just so happens that my grandparents are like
Those old school Christians, very liberal or w/e you wanna call it.
Conservative if you will.

But they know that my work usually involves that stuff
& I could do it around them, but I hate hearing those annoying questions like:
"What's that?" or "Why is that on your screen?" & stupid shit like that.

So the only time I can seem to work on my stuff is
When my grandparents are out of the house or super late at night
And at that rate I'll NEVER get anything done.

Plus I'm a growing dude & I do look at other things...
Buuuuuuuuuutttttttttttt they don't know that.

How can I convince them to let me move my goddamn computer to my goddamn room?

You could always just move it into your room and then tell them afterwards? After all it's easier to seek forgiveness than to get permission.

You know...I was thinking of doing that...without the forgiveness part though, lol.
I don't see why I have to ask permission if it's my own computer that no one uses except me?

Your PC but probably their power.

Telling them won't work, asking would be a better idea but be logical and reasonable. Or just move it anyway

Try telling them why you need to move it. If that fails, move it to your room. It may be their house and their rules, however, if something is yours then you have the control over it. That, or move out.

If you bought that PC why did you set it up in your living room?

Honestly I think you've got plenty of reasons to want the computer in your room, and other than the fact that it's [possibly] their house they haven't got that many. You gave a full argument as to why you should have the computer in your room just in your posts. You bought it, you're the only one that uses it, [presumably] it'll be easier to concentrate in your own room etc. Why don't you try sitting down with them and asking them 'how they would feel if you were to move the computer?' That way you're asking them, showing that you respect what they feel, but they're given the impression that it's something that you want to do. Then, explain why you want to move it and try and come to some sort of compromise.
