I think I messed up this time. - January 31st 2009, 11:17 PM

I was at the mall today with my best friend. Well, he asked me to be his valentine and all this year, so I said yes because I like him. We're planning on going out, but just in case we didn't I gave him his gift today. Yeah, not my best idea. It was a kiss. Well, he kissed back and kissed me a few times. That's where I messed it all. I've wanted to date him. I wanted it for awhile, he said he likes me too and blah. He ended up talking about him moving to another state, which he knows kills me so much. So after he cheered me up after that, we took some pictures. Then he was telling me how cute I look. I said, "Well, if I'm so cute why don't I have a boyfriend?" and he's like, "Because you're not looking." and I just looked at him for a second, he pulled him down by me, I was sitting he was standing, and went, "I'm looking at one right now."

And he never acted like it bugged him or anything, he acted normal. The problem is, he says and acts like he wants to date me, but then says he's not fully sure if we should right now because of everything going on between the two of us. (We both have a lot of problems going down.) But he once said, "Maybe someday we'll date." and I said, "Keyword...maybe." and he said, "No! Keyword...someday." I know I gotta talk to him about it all, but I'm not sure how to start it. I'm gonna be talking to him Sunday night after I get off work, but...I have no clue what to say to him.

When you fall, don't always expect someone to pick you up. Do it yourself, you're stronger then you think. Brush yourself off and keep your head high.

Hi Jessie,

From what it sounds like, your friend isn't ready for a relationship just yet. I think it would be best to give him a little time on this. He seems to like you, but maybe he's worried about the commitment and how he should act. And if he has some problems right now, then maybe he wants to sort himself out first. A move is quite a big thing to be dealing with too. Give him some time, he'll work out his feelings soon enough.

For now, just act normally around him. You can explain how you feel to him if you want, but I wouldn't pressure him into a relationship if that's not what he wants right now.

I hope you're doing well.
Nat.

The great artists of our time are the ones who created something timeless. But it was never them defining it that way.
Everyone has a story. What's yours?

The thing is, we talk about relationships and he always talks about why he doesn't have a girlfriend. He always says how I'm the only girl that think he's good looking and he loves that. He sure acts like he's ready since he was well grabbing my hand to hold and wrapping his arms around my waist.
I mean, I just don't wanna wait and get hurt again.
