Angry Not again _ - February 2nd 2009, 08:27 AM

This is gona sound kinda weird, cause this is my first "rant" on this account, (old one died) but yeah, in a nut shell, my mum's a bitch to me, I've come to terms with this, but she always surprises me. Since it's obvious that I'm struggling with college, by the screaming crying self harm etc, she's decided to be nice to me, for once, and "help" me with my college work, even though she doesnt know the basics of art. It's nice that she's like showing concern and "trying" to help. But she uses it to her advantage. Even if I have work to do, that's meant for class, she wont let me out or anything until I've finished it completely. Like this morning, my mate wanted to go out in the snow, so I was like ok then, just about to go. And she was like NO YOU CANT GO! YOU'LL FREEZE! AND YOU HAVE TO WRITE AN ESSAY! An essay we're still having an introduction on, so e dont have a clue what to do. So I'm left here writing a stupid essay, plucking idea's out the air cause I have no idea. Whilst my mate and everyone else is outside playing in the snow. Then later, my brother says "My mates coming round, we're going to play in the snow" OOO NO! That's fine, he's meant to be here helping me write this stupid essay, but he's allowed out. AND he's nearly 20! He has uni work, but that's just over looked. ERGH!

You can comment on this little rant if you wish, it was mostly just a means of talking it out and saying what's pissing me off.

Hi Staceyanne,

What I'd suggest for this is to talk with your mom and set out some times when you could do your work and times when you can go out with your friends. That might help settle it between you two.
I can understand her concern, though. She may not know much about art, but she knows how important this work is to get done. She only cares about your grades at the moment. Give her a little time and talk over a work schedule.

I hope this works for you.
Nat.

The great artists of our time are the ones who created something timeless. But it was never them defining it that way.
Everyone has a story. What's yours?

Yeah, I just try to understand it from her perspective, but she's just controlling, I try drum out the negatives most of the time, even if she just complains and moans lol. xx
