Exclamation how to tell the granparents i am moving out of the house.! - March 22nd 2010, 04:01 AM

i just turned 18, almost 2 months ago, but i am wanting to move out of the house ASAP. well in two weeks after i put in my two weeks notice. But i currently live with grandpa and his wife, so my grandma. y gram however is his first wife. i will talk about the two like. gram is 1st wife. granma is 2nd. but living with my grandparents is extremely hard and difficult to do with because they try to control almost every aspect of my life. accuse of lying and stealing and eventually putting a dead bolt lock on their door. I have never jacked anything from my family inmy life so it hurts alot. well since i was 12 my gram said i can come live with her and i told her on my 18th birthday i am moving in. well the time hasd come as my spring quarter at college is finished. i am going to take online classes while living with the gram. but the thing is my gram and my granparents hate eachother with a passion so moving out will almost be like a slap in the face to my granparents. but i can no longer live with them as my granpa is becoming an alcoholic again, they treat me and my 2 little brothers like red headed step childs and i have zero respect from them. i just want to be happy and be who i am but i am unable to do that here. i want to/ am moving in with my gram but need advice on how to tell my graparents. but i want to leave as easy as possible and still have some ties with them as they are still taking care of my two little brothers. anyone have any advice on what to say.?

Your grandparents have openly accused you of lying and stealing, and they haven't made any effort to hide the fact that they don't trust you... so if I were in your shoes, I'd be fairly straightforward about why you're leaving. "I know that you two don't trust me... so I'm going to make things easier on you, and move out." Make it short and sweet, thanking them for their generosity to you and to your brothers.
