Gift That Says "I Trust You" - April 22nd 2010, 11:05 PM

Hey,

My best friend's birthday is coming up soon, and I'm not sure what to get her. Also, this happens to be the girl that I'm totally in love with.

That being said, we probably bicker and fight more than a married couple sometimes. The last two arguments have been about our trust for each other. I already know what I'm writing on the card and I really want to get something for her birthday that says I Trust You, you know? But I'm not sure what that could be. Preferably, I'd like to spend no more than $40, as I'm pretty low on money right now. But if the idea is good enough, I'm willing to pay significantly more.

Any ideas? :/

well if i was trying to say i trust you. then i would give something of my own to them. that i really like. to me thats like saying: "you're in my life to stay and i'm happy because of it. and i'm giving this to because it means something to me and i know you'll take care of it just like you've taken care of me."
edit: or make something. either way i think it should be personal. cuz thats bascially saying you mean something to me. which is pretty much a trust upper.

" One day at a time, this is enough. Do not look back and grieve over the past for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful it will be worth remembering. "

i wonder when i'll finally jsut start accepting myself, when i'll stop saying i wish i could be like that person.

i have facebook, and myspace. and you can ask for it. :P

True, a personal gift is more than buying something. But trust can be told through gifts sometimes but when it comes to actually building trust, actions speak louder. Let your actions show the trust. Because you might get the gift but a few days later, you never know what might happen. But actions reach into the heart itself.

As for actions, I already have planned a number of non-tangible "gifts" ... but I wanted to get at least one thing that is tangible.

I wouldn't mind giving her something that's mine, something that means a lot to me even, but honestly I don't think I have anything like that which I don't use/need on a day-to-day basis, and even then those items have no real meaning to me. I'm trying to think of something like that, but nothing really comes to mind.

Making something? Oh boy, I don't even know where to start... what are some examples of something someone would make as a gift?

Ok then. Then this will be tough then. The best thing would be something that's close to your heart. Without that there is really not much that can say I trust you.
