Unhappy might be moving - May 9th 2010, 10:19 AM

im 15 have great friends, and just starting to enjoy life again then my rents drop the bomb shell. we might be moving..to aussie. right now mum and dad are over in aussie seeing what its like, and im missing them loads, but i cant leave nz, my friends are keeping me sane, and the thought of leaving right now is to scary for me. i dont wanna move away from those i love, but can i leave my rents alone with no kids. whats the right thing to do, keep myself or my rents sane. idk im slipping back into old habbits with this stress, argghh

That's a tough situation. How long until you're legally considered an "adult" in New Zealand? I think I read that it's 20, but that you have some rights at an earlier age. In any case... I would ask your parents if you can stay in New Zealand until you're done with the current school year, then move to Australia with them (if they end up moving at all). Living away from your parents as a minor isn't easy, and it could hurt your relationship with them in the long run. You can always make new friends... but you can't replace your parents.

okay well now its like 99.9% chance that we are moving, dad it waiting for one more phone call and then he is leaving. my mum cried when she told me and that nearly killed me, i hate seeing her sad. she had to tell my grandparents and they were very sad. i changed my mind, i dont wanna move but im going to for my mum, to stop her from hurting..
