Question What can i do - uncle moved in - May 23rd 2010, 05:42 PM

Hello,

I really annoyed and wish to ask for advice and to rant about it to someone, and I thought this would be the best place. Myself, sister mom and nan moved into a 3 bedroom house, and we was going to get a loft turned into another bedroom but money hasnt been great, so I have my own room, mom and sister share and nan was sleeping in sisters room. But last year sometime my uncle moved it and now he sleeps in sisters room and nan is forced to sleep downstairs. I dont mind him living here, he desnt take the pee and he does pay some rent, but the fact is we dont have enough for us to live let alone him, he takes over things. Nan got a new fish tank today and it was some bonding time for me mom and nan and he but in telling us what to do.. Bare in mind I work in a fish shop and keep a tank of my own, and he doesnt. So our bonding time didnt really go to well. He is living without people knowing, and I dont want mom to get found out and have to pay 1,000 or more, she couldnt afford it... I just dont want him living here anymore due to the fact mom could get done for fraud...

I have tried talking but her replie is "we okay at the momnt"
What can I do ?

Unfortunately, I'm not sure there's much you can do. It's your mom's house, and therefore your mom's rules. If she wants to take a risk and let your uncle stay here, then that's her choice.

If there's something in particular that's bothering you (like your uncle not being kind toward you or your nan), I think it would be a good idea to discuss things with your mom, then ask if the family could sit down and talk about their problems after dinner. Everyone can make a list of things they'd like the rest of the family members to work on, such as not being as rude or doing more chores around the house.
