HELP my friend wants to run off with the carnival - August 16th 2010, 04:00 PM

i dont know what to do, my friends talking to me on facebook, and is asking me for advice, shes met a guy who work for the carnival (one of the travelling fun fairs) shes wanted to join the carnival for a long time, shes in a relationship with this guy whos shes met, he know wants her to join the carnival and travel to london with him! shes asking me for advice on facebook, i am telling its a bad idea and that i could all go wrong ect. im trying to discourage her i know its her own choice, but i just dont like the sound of it, apart from anything else she hardly knows this guy and if she is going with the carnival she needs to make a decession in the next 5 days. ive suggested she makes a list of the pros and cons of going and such like , shes really determined to go, i really dont think its a good idea. what do i do ?

Is your friend a minor? If so, you could tell her parents, and hope that they'll intervene. If she's an adult, however, then there isn't much you can do. Keep telling her how concerned you are and why, encourage her to look at the pros and cons... but at the end of the day, you're right, she's free to make her own decisions. All you can do is hope for the best, and keep in touch in case she ever needs the support of a good friend.
