Question Sooooo Confused :/ - October 1st 2010, 02:39 AM

So in 6th grade my best friend Carly was being a real jerk to me. I did NOTHING bad to her and then she pushed all of the stuff that she did on me. Eventually I just ignored her and I became closer with another friend of mine named Cecelia. Cecelia eventually became my best friend and helped me through my health problems that summer. Then Carly turned on Cecelia.
Skipping to eighth grade, she tried to make it up to it like it was all fine. We forgave her, but there's still a tense atmosphere whenever we're near her.
We're freshmen now and it seems like Carly is trying to live my life. When she saw I was in marching band, she said she wanted to join. When I wore a college sweatshirt and she ased if I was going there I said yes and she said that she was going there too. This problem with her copying me been going on for years now. I'm just getting really annoyed, how can I get her to stop?

Unfortunately it probably won't stop. Even if you bring it up to her and call her out on it. She will deny it. Although you could try talking to her. I didn't say it wouldn't stop the chances of it stopping are low though.

It seems as if you and your other friend don't really want to be friends with her. Either you two truly haven't forgiven her or perhaps you have and you would just rather it be like forgive her and forget her and if thats the case then cut your ties with her.

Yes it may be hard and she may get mad but if you are getting annoyed by her and you really don't want to be around her then don't.

Always remember to put your happiness first.

I think Ashley has said it right. You could try talking to her about it but chances are she won't stop or change. So it's best to just find a way to ignore her.

You don't sound like you and your 'new' friend like this old one much anymore. And you shouldn't feel forced to be friends with her. It's just making you unhappy so cut ties with her. It might make things better for you.

Take care.
