It depends on the occasion really and who's going. 11-12 is the lastest though I think my parents would go, unless it was something really special like a concert that required lots of travelling to and from.

Re: Staying out - February 23rd 2011, 01:30 AM

Before I moved out into the big city, before midnight was always my rule, even when I was living on my own - for the very simple reason that I lived in the isolated boonies and if I didn't make the 11:30pm bus, I'd be stranded somewhere for the night - or have to disturb my father to pick me up, which I hate doing. I'm glad that I never had friends who owned cars or anything like that, which would make the timing a lot more difficult to maintain.

But I feel very fortunate to have a parent that respected my need for personal time.

I don't really have one, as long as I call them and make sure I'm ok they let me go out.

I don't really have one either. However, I am 18. I've also proven myself trustworthy enough to not have a time limit.

I don't really have one, either. :/ I just get home whenever I get home. I don't go out a whole lot, so yeah.

My parents never gave me a curfew as I never went out much. They would text and make sure i was okay but that was it

Mine is 12 without calling home.

If I want to stay a lot later, I'll just call and tell my parents.

As long as I call in so my parents are aware of where I am and that I'm safe, they're fine with any time even if it's past 1 am the next day.

As long as I tell my parents where I've gone when I leave and I have my key & a way back home, I can come home whenever I want.

Re: Staying out - February 23rd 2011, 10:31 AM

I've never actually had one. I used to be friends to a lot of people who lived quite a long way away from me so my dad would come and pick me up. I was allowed out until my dad wanted to go to bed basically

Well, my best friend had to be home at 9pm so that technically was my curfew too as I was almost always with her.

Re: Staying out - February 23rd 2011, 01:35 PM

Thanks for posting everyone. i just feel really really down... like i have no life. i always get invited out with my mates around 9pm or so. but i have no chance what so ever of being able to go. The latest i am able to be out for is half past 9, but only if i am about 5 mins from the damn house haha.
im 17 ffs, any tips for what i could do to help this?? i have tried to get accross to them how wrong this is to me, but nothing is working.

thanks in advance.

Re: Staying out - February 23rd 2011, 10:11 PM

As long as you live under your parents' roof, you have to abide by their rules (so long as they don't cause you physical/mental harm). It sucks, I know... but 17 years old isn't 18 years old. You're not an adult yet. =/

I take it you've already tried bargaining with your parents, and they've said no... but what about inviting your friends to come over to your place for a late-night movie-watching marathon, or a sleepover? Since you won't have to leave the house, your parents may be okay with that. =)

Re: Staying out - February 24th 2011, 01:42 AM

I was a little bit of a trouble maker, when I was 17 on a school night my parents would want me home anywhere from 9-10 anything after that wasn't acceptable. Now I can come and go as I please keep in mind I'm 19 almost 20.
