Friend of Four Years - March 2nd 2011, 04:37 AM

My friend who i've been friends with for four years has started to ignore me.. it's been a month since we've talked. I've tried to text/call/message him, he won't reply. He'll reply to a person i introduced him to(he's only met her once -_-) We dated for like a month, but i broke it off because, it just wasn't good for either of us. (we're two different people and acted more like friends.) Also, He randomly just started to ignore me. Deleted everyone out of his phone. I know he started off new but, he won't let me back into his life.. I don't know how to handle this.. I love the boy(As a good friend of course) but, I can't just stop and move on.. It's just impossible.

I'm sorry about your friend! That doesn't sound to great at all. Unfortunately, people change and grow. Sometimes we leave others behind. And even though the friendship is four years old, doesn't mean it can be fixed, or will last. I'm not saying that's the case with you, at all. I think that you should write him a letter saying how you feel about his change, and ask why he has closed off from you. You don't want to endlessly chase him-- it'll get you no where. If he wants to be friends, then he does. If not then you should try and move on with your life. Just in case, if he decides he wants to be friends again, keep him in the back of your mind. Try not to stress over this. He will come to you when he's ready. It sounds as though he might be going through something, and letting go of people from the past is his way of coping.

To make yourself feel a bit better, you can try hanging out with other friends. They are good for making people feel better. Just try to keep moving forward with him in your mind. What I mean, is move forward while holding on to him. If that makes sense? He will come around though. Your friendship went on for four years, so you must mean a great deal to him. It's natural for friends to take breaks. In my past, I've taken breaks from friends and reconnected with them a year, or less later. :]

Hope this helped!
