Worried about my BFF - August 9th 2011, 02:03 PM

Sometimes I get seriously worried about my best friend...It seems that she'll say yes to anything: cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, maybe even sex. Its like she has no will power- or is trying to be rebellious or something. Her boyfriend is such a jerk too. He gets drunk almost everyday, smokes cigarettes, smokes weed...and he's only fifteen. I know that to a point this is not of my business, but Im just concerned about her. I think she could easily get into trouble. What, if anything, can I do to help her? Or should I just leave it and let her learn from her own mistakes?

I know I probably sound like a real snob right now...but any advice? thanks.

When people grow up, their curiosity is sparked. Some teens are drawn to those things because they've yet to experience it. It's natural to worry about your friend. And you're right; it isn't your business. But you still care. And whether or not it's your business, doesn't make it any better. I would talk to your friend about this. Express your concerns with her behavior, and say how it hurts you to see her making poor decisions. You shouldn't put yourself in a situation where you could get in trouble. So, as hard as this may be, I suggest distancing yourself from your friend. But explain to her why. Hopefully, your friendship means more to her then what she has been doing lately. I would suggest telling someone (like her parents, or a teacher) if you feel her safety is in danger. <3
