I have this friend that I really like and we decided that we'd start dating after a month of school, just so he can get settled in and stuff. he gave me his cell number so we could talk. i texted him after i found out a close friend died and i wanted someone to talk to. he's one of those guys that texts one word answers and shit. it drives me insane cuz i feel like he' doesn't want to talk to me. i know I'm not being needy, i just wanted someone to talk to. what do i do?

Call him. It's hard to convey your sympathies via text messages. When you talk to someone over the phone or in person, however, you can hear the tone of voice in addition to the words of comfort.
