Unhappy I need balance - August 25th 2011, 11:00 PM

I know everyone is different, believe me, but I just don't get people sometimes. I hate how I can care about all my friends and support them whenever they need me but I never get the same back. I mean I never got support from my friends since I could remember but that's the reason why I do so much for people; I never want a friend of mine to feel the way I do. Why don't they do the same for me? It makes me want to give up on the world. Even though I care about myself more than anyone else it's only because I know that no one else will do it for me. It just really depressing and it just makes me feel like being alone because in my eyes, I'm already alone. I don't know what to do. Help??

Hi Rooni3.

I'm sorry to hear that your friends are less than supportive of you. Some people are naturally more caring than others but it's a shame that none of them in your friendship circle seem to be.

It's good that you are strong and mature enough to be able to take care of yourself. However, it's understandable for you to want someone to be there for you. We all need that now and again.

I guess you have two options really.

The first is to try and make some new friends. That doesn't mean you have to cut ties with your current ones, it just means having some extra, more supportive ones.

The second is to stick around on TH and make some friends on here. Everyone is definitely very supportive and if you spend some time hanging out in the chatroom, or start a conversation with a friendly face, it's likely that you will make soon make friends. Whilst you may feel that online support is not a fantastic substitute for real life support, it's got to be better than nothing, right?

Take care and feel free to contact me if you want a chat.

J. x
