My friends are falling apart - March 8th 2012, 03:30 AM

Through the end of highschool and the past year and a half, I have been blessed with a pretty strong core of friends. However, recently, feuds between them have been tearing the group apart. I'm trying to stay neutral and support all of them as I don't feel any of them are in the wrong. But it just feels that as they move farther apart, I'm getting left behind while trying to stay in their lives.

The kind of stuff tearing them apart involves relationships(friends dating the exes of friends, and I'm friends with the exes too), differing maturiy levels(my one friend who has a kid seems to be the most immature of us and alot of my friends are getting annoyed with it.), drugs, Past secrets(one friend found out another friend slept with his crush), and various other issues.

I don't really know what I'm asking. I just wanted to say it to someone. It feels like my friends are leaving me because of their feuds. I'm afraid of being alone, but more and more I feel less comfortable telling these things to my friends.

See, the thing is we will all lose friends, and it seems like you are trying to hold on to something that simply isn't there anymore. Friendships come and go, people grow apart from one another, and the harder your try to fight it, the worse it will hurt. If you are feeling like you are being left out, and that things are falling apart, then chances are you are right and if thats the case, there isn't much you can do.

Let things roll; don't try to push the ball one way when its destined to be going the other way. If you and your friends split up, then move on. If you and your friends get back to how it use to be, then embrace it. The fact of the matter is you cant control what they do, you only can control what you do and how you react to others actions. I think the best thing to do in this situation is to start looking for new friends. Now, I'm not saying replace the ones you have, but I think that you shouldn't have to rely on only this group of friends, so go out there and start building new friendships.

Best wishes,

I hope you know that you deserve it all. The best, the most honest, the most beautiful purest love in the world. Not only to be loved by others, but to be loved by yourself. To look in the mirror and think "Yes, I'm exactly who I want to be". To speak up and be proud of yourself. To be brave and open. You deserve the nicest and most caring people to walk into your life. You deserve it all, you know. The whole world...
