Graduation cake! - February 23rd 2014, 04:18 AM

Okay so I don't graduate until the end of June but I was talking to someone about cakes and I just got really excited about graduating and yeah.

My third grade teacher has made cakes for us in the past. She made my 16th birthday cake, my sister's baby shower cake, and my niece's 1st birthday cake. I know for a fact she'll make my birthday cake in June and I already have an idea for that. It'll be a polka dot cake, the only thing I'm not sure of is if I should do black or white frosting. But, I don't know what to do for my high school graduation cake!

I don't want something typical. Like when I "graduated" elementary school my mom got me a cake with a woman with a yellow cap and gown on and a man with a blue cap and gown on. I don't want something typical like a cap and gown sort of cake. I want something different than that.

That's where you all come in. You all are creative geniuses, so give me ideas?

The only idea I don't want is butterflies, just because that's what my 16th birthday cake was, or polka dots since that's what my 18th birthday will be, so I don't want to repeat.

Oooh, cake. Now I want some.

Do you want it really detailed? What if you did a layered cake and each layer could be in the shape of a textbook or something? Or you could do one big scroll, too! You could also do what you want to do your career around.

Post pictures of your birthday and graduation cakes! Or else.

Get a pie instead .

Cassie had some cool ideas . You could stick with a school theme and make your cake look like books and other types of school supplies. A calculator cake lol . Anyways, you could do that or maybe make it themed around something that you enjoy. And you could always go for something simple such as your favorite type of cake decorated with stripes in you favorite color . Good luck on deciding!

One of my family saw this Pigs in mud cake , and made it. It was delicious, though rather sweet. But great fun!

Cake. Dez, keep me a slice, okie?

I like the ideas other people are mentioning! I particularly like the notion of having a cake which alludes to your future career path. It sounds very symbolic of graduating.

You could have an owl cake, they're sometimes used for graduation related things, but it would still be a kind of different idea, and really cute too! It could have glasses on and maybe holding a blackboard with the congrats message on?

Ah, cake. I'm gonna get a slice, right?

I like the idea of having a cake that revolves around your career choice.
