So recently, I've come off meat because of the texture and sometimes the way it tastes.

Do you like Tofu? If you haven't tried it, try it! If you have and you already like try googling some recipies. I would give you one but I don't eat tofu

Tofu is a great substitute for meat! I love putting it in rice and vegetables
![]() Other good substitutes are foods with protein, such as nuts. There are also lots of fake meat products out there. Morning Star is a good brand. ![]() Buddy|Live Help Operator|HelpLink Mentor|Social Networking Team Relationships&Dating Mod|Lifestyle Mod|Media&Entertainment Mod Performance Committee |

I tried Morning Star and I didn't like it, but Boca Burgers are the best burgers I've found. I haven't gone veggie yet (partially to avoid freaking my mom out), but I'm considering it.

Since you are no longer eating meat, you definitely need to find ways to get protein.
Eggs are great source of protein. Whole grains are wonderful too, especially quinoa. Here is a website dedicated to vegetarian recipes. It has some delicious recipes I've had (not vegetarian but sometimes meat just doesn't sound good). Anything from desserts to meals to pasta.
So you have gray hair and you're only 26
that's just another reason I love you... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

My BIGGEST suggestion is not to rely on fake meat products very much. It is much better for you to get protein (and other nutrients) through legumes, beans, lentils, soy products like tofu, quinoa, nuts... things like these. I'd also suggest not falling into the habit many new vegetarians do of using dairy to replace meat. Dairy's great, but it's important to eat a variety of proteins and foods.
Definitely try out different lentil and beans recipes. Chickpeas are freaking delicious and go well in pretty much anything. Try making your own bean burgers, maybe. Quiche is a great one too, because you can add absolutely anything (grated zucchini and yellow pepper go super well together, for example). While I'm not vegetarian now, I was for many years and my sister's dad (different parents) runs a veggie restaurant. So if you have any questions or need any specific recipes, feel free to ask.

I think Quorn meat is quite nice. It has the same textures as meat and it gives you protein, and it's vedgetarian!

you can buy vegetarian meats (boca and morningstar farms are the 2 biggest brands) usually at normal supermarkets, but especially at healthy food stores. im not sure about where you are, but here we can get it mostly anywhere, even though it still costs a little more then i would like to spend lol
On the outside I'm smiling, but inside im crying. I'm silent, but screaming, I'm so slowly dying. |
