Unhappy Great Aunt passed away ... - December 27th 2014, 08:59 PM

She passed away the day before Christmas at 7:00 AM.

Keep holding on, 'cause you know we're gonna make it through, we'll make it through.
Just stay strong, 'cause you know I'm here for you, I'm here for you.
There's nothing you could say, nothing you could do.
There's no other way when it comes to the truth.
So, keep holding on, 'cause you know we'll make it thought, we'll make it through.

Hey,

I am so sorry to hear about your Great Aunt!

Do you think you could talk to other family members about this? They are grieving with you, so maybe all of you can be a support system to one another. It may also help just to have a shoulder to cry on and get everything out to at a time like this. If you don't feel comfortable talking to family, is there anyone else you may be able to talk to instead?

Perhaps you can write some sort of letter or do some sort of self expression to get some closure. Writing something may be able to help you get out your last words to her, so to speak. What you do with the letter after is up to you, but it may help. Even if you don't want to do that, though, self expression like art, writing, and music can help you get out how you are feeling. Also remember that it is okay to cry.

Take care of yourself and allow yourself the time you need to grieve. Nobody expects you to be okay right away, but make sure you are watching out for your health, such as by eating right and getting the right amount of sleep. If you need time for yourself, be sure to take it. Maybe you can take a warm bath or shower then curl up with a good book or movie, eat your favorite goodies, or paint your nails for instance. You deserve that.

If you want to talk, you definitely can! You can get through this!

-Dez

I'm sorry for your loss.

I agree with what Dez has said. I think the best thing that you can do for yourself right now is to release your feelings in a healthy manner. Try not to keep them inside because that's unhealthy in the long run. Take some time to grieve and do things that make you feel happy! Be sure to lean on other family members if you need to. Take care of your basic needs, too.
