My princess <3 - November 4th 2011, 04:28 AM

Today, at 4am my pet cat died. I held her in my arms every moment I could get. She looked at me in the eyes and I knew she wanted me to help her and I wanted to help her, but I just didn't know how. She looked like she was in so much pain, and it was hurting me seeing her go in such a horrible way. I fell asleep on the sofa with her in my arms. I woke up and handed her to my Mum because I wanted her to spend her last moments with Mum. She tried to meow, three times to be exact, and she winked at me (which means kisses).

She meant so much to me. She was the only being that kept me sane, because everyone else didn't have the capability to do so. I now have to live on this Earth without my only best friend - and it's killing me. I know it's good that she's not in any pain, but I wanted her to stay forever. She was such a lovely, loyal and loving cat. I will never find another like her.

Thanks for sharing this. Your cat must have meant a lot to you. Just know that you're not alone. I had a cat that died right beside me and I cried cause it hurt me to see it die. Something that helped me is talking about it. You can PM me if you want or find someone you can talk to ( a close friend, parent, counselor, or any professional help). Also make a burial ceremony for the cat and tell it good bye and let the pain go you're strong! Don't lose hope.

I agree, I've lost a few animals in my lifetime that I hold dear to my heart. It is hard to say goodbye but I know they're no longer suffering. Stay strong and feel free to contact me if you ever need to talk. <3

Losing a pet might as well be as bad as losing a sibling or son/daughter... They're most definitely members of your family and it's just as devastating. I know exactly how you feel and I'm so sorry that you have to go through something so difficult. Talk about all of the good memories you have with your furry friend, especially the things that made you smile the most. A friend of mine recently lost her cat and decided to write a diary of its life as if he was the one writing it - it included all of her favorite memories but from his perspective instead of hers. She sad it was VERY therapeutic.

I know it's hard to lose someone so close, but stay strong. Know that she's not suffering anymore and that she's probably making some other people very happy right now (my mom used to remind me that our pets were going to Heaven to take care of all of the people in Heaven who didn't have someone to cuddle with). Take care! <3

I know how you feel sweets. I lost my first cat when I was 12 and it was the hardest thing I've ever had to go through. Losing a pet of any kind is heartbreaking as they are part of your family and part of your heart. It sounds as though you truly loved your cat and she was an important part of your life. Keep the love for her and remember how she helped you and let her be an inspiration to keep moving forward. Stay strong. I'm sorry for your loss. x
