Question Reader inserts - September 26th 2015, 02:37 AM

Ahahahaha... this isn't literature. I just didn't know where to put it.
Anyways, for quite a while now one of my biggest guilty pleasures has been reader inserts. Are they weird? Yes. Are they stupid? Most of the time. Are most of them really poorly written? ...yes. With that being said, they are really fun to read sometimes and, hey, who doesn't have a crush on a fictional character? However, recently I have been noticing a lot of people talking about how horrible reader inserts are and how they shouldn't exist because they're creepy. At this point, I don't know what to think. Any thoughts?

Aaah I used to read those when I first got into fandoms! (coughhetaliacough)

I think people's main issue with reader inserts are that quite a few of them tend to make light of serious situations, but other than that, they're just... mostly badly written stories You're not hurting anyone by reading them (and how on Earth are they creepy??) so ignore them, if you can.

Just a bit of advice - If you're going to write one, make sure it's not embarrassing as hell, cause you'll regret it a few years down the road ^_^; (Oops)

LOL Yes, I wrote a few quite a while ago and I am now just silently sinking into my chair as I delete them. (Aaand... I think it's pretty obvious from my signature that I'm definitely not obsessed with Hetalia. Definitely.) Also, at first I thought that your location was NSFW and I was... confused, to say the least.
