TH Bookclub: January Selection. - November 23rd 2016, 01:06 AM

I tried picking a few different titles. I want to do the selection a month or two in advanced so that people have enough time to find the books.

This will close on the 30th of the month.

I've read The Gender Game and I seriously loved it. I'd have no problem reading it again, either. It'd be neat to discuss it. I didn't find it triggering myself.

“There is nothing beautiful about the wreckage of a human being.
There is nothing pretty about damage, about pain, about heartache.
What is beautiful is their strength, their resilience, their fortitude
as they display an ocean of courage when they pick through the
wreckage of their life to build something beautiful brand new,
against every odd that is stacked against them.” — Nikita Gill

I would totally love to join, however, I'm really picky when it comes to reading as if a book isn't interesting to me or is too hard to read then I usually won't be able to finish it..

Oliver: Is the Gender Game an easy read at all? What kind of triggers might it have?

The thing I enjoy about book clubs is that you don't have to participate every month. If a book doesn't seem interesting you can abstain. Or, if it does seem interesting but then you can't get into it you can discuss why. There is no requirement to finish the book etc.

This is very true, Jenna. I will definitely keep my eyes on these threads and will jump in if there's something I like showing up

If there are books that you'd like to suggest I could include them in the list of books to read. That way there might be a chance for a book you'd be interested in getting selected!

I definitely will! I have a couple books I've actually been wanting to read I will let you know as soon as I come up with the titles.

We have a selection. I'll make the thread in social groups soon.

Just want to say that when we do a poll I will re-use the books that don't get used but not right away. I'm also thinking of making a thread that lists all the books we have read.
