TH Book club follow up questions - February 22nd 2019, 03:45 AM

At some point this year I want to try and start this up again but I want to ask a few follow up questions:

What are your favorite genres?
Are there genres that would prevent you from participating?

1) I love Fantasy, some Sci-Fi, Historical fiction, some contemporary and a few thrillers.
2) The only genre I would not be interested in reading would be western. I've tried and can never get into them. Not a huge fan of contemporary but I can attempt them even if the rating ends up not being high. I tend to do better with hard hitting contemporary but I would probably skip those for TH as I don't want to trigger people. (If there are enough people who would be open to hard hitting I'd reconsider). I can also do some non fiction but I struggle with them more often than not

I've done some thinking and I think what I might do is choose the top two books. That way people would be able to choose between two books instead of being stuck with one.

I have a lot going on right now and I do want to try and get this implemented this year but it might not happen till later in the year. My goal is to have it up by the end of the year.

Those that participate will have to be open to the fact that some books might end up being triggering. I can try and avoid books I know have triggers but there are a lot of books that have triggers written in and you don't know about them until you read. I know a lot of the books we choose are going to be books that I haven't read so I can't really specify triggers and I don't tend to be the best with triggers because really weird things trigger me.

(Almost) same
My favourite ones are fantasy, historical/historical fiction, sometimes sci-fi too. What's more I enjoy biographies and books relating to politics or political history.

I wouldn't be interested in horrors, western and (some) romances. Probably not contemporary either, but again this is a very wide category, so it depends.

I don't mind reading any genres though I sometimes struggle with historical fiction, but I'm open to reading that genre as well

I hope to read something this year. I never even accomplished my one-book reading goal in 2018!

I am really open to almost all genres, except romance and horror.
